The boulder in question is right across from my dad’s old office where I also worked a couple years ago. Too bad I never got to see this firsthand.

I was wondering when Jalopnik would pick this up after I started to see it on Facebook.  Even if the boulder is in somebody’s blind spot when they are turning, I don’t know how they don’t notice it when they pull into the parking lot.

This has been suggested many times. I am for it, although the boulder will sadly probably be removed before that can happen

We used to have a couple large boulders exiting our parking lot. They are now gone, but I miss the days when I would hear yelled across the office, “Some jackass is stuck on the boulders again!”.

I don’t understand how it happens. Like it’s not on the road, or even especially close. I can see someone screwing up and riding up on the curve a little or whatever, but if can’t make a turn without going way off the road, you probably shouldn’t be driving at all.

There are a lot of people stateside who shouldn’t be driving at all..

(or, as an alternative, I’ve always thought that they could be mandated to drive an old Yugo instead for everybody else’s safety)

Two thoughts, one, they don’t see it, they just assume nothing is in their way if they’re near the pavement. Two, they might assume that because they have an suv that they have a machine capable of driving over anything (I think J eep advertisements give people unrealistic expectations of what an suv can do..)
